The easiest and most thorough way to disinfect packaging materials is to wash them with water and then bake them at high temperature. The glass bottle can be washed and baked with water, because the glass is resistant to high temperatures. Plastic bottles can’t be sterilized in high temperature, they melt as soon as they are heated, and they can’t be washed. After washing, they are filled with water. The effects of ozone and ultraviolet disinfection are very weak, and they can only be sent to a special institution for irradiation, which wastes time and increases costs, so plastic bottles are really not recommended.
